Shrikhol
Shrikhol has a special status among highly demanded percussion instruments of Bengal such as maddal, Bangla dhol, dhak and more. Albeit a variant of mridangam, deeply associated with the Vaishnavite cult of the North Eastern belt, its name sets it apart from the Assamese and Manipuri varieties and lends a stamp of Bengal.

Chandan Mandal

Pt. Palash Sarkar
Pt. Sarkar aspires to work tirelessly towards the cultivation of Mahajani Kirtan and all forms of Indian traditional music on both national and international platforms. On a futuristic note, Pt. Sarkar dreams of a setting up a Kirtan academy that will not only inculcate the doctrine of Mahajani Kirtan and Vaishnav Literature amongst the masses but will also help in preserving and cultivating the old and rich legacy of Indian music and its tradition.
Chhandam Biswas
Chhandam is currently in charge of the ‘Kalabati Sangeet Shikshayatan’, a musical academy which was established by his late guru, Pt. Utpal Sarkar. Here, he imparts training to all junior and senior students of the academy. It is of great honor that students of this school have earned accolades from several musical competitions all over the country.
